Healing in small, possible steps.
Who we are
Corbella Clinical Counseling offers faith-integrated psychotherapy grounded in the truth, beauty, and goodness of the Christian tradition, and rooted in evidence-based clinical care. The mission is to accompany individuals through the sacred work of healing, helping each person rediscover meaning, connection, and wholeness.
This practice exists at the intersection of faith and mental health, shaped by the conviction that real healing happens when both the soul and the psyche are honored. Clients are met with gentleness, reverence, and hope as they navigate trauma, anxiety, grief, shame, and identity-related struggles.
Corbella specializes in trauma-informed care, utilizing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) alongside talk therapy. Therapeutic approaches include Internal Family Systems (parts work), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), attachment theory, and person-centered therapy. These tools are used not only to relieve symptoms but to support lasting integration and the reclamation of joy.
Named in honor of Servant of God Chiara Corbella Petrillo, the practice is inspired by her witness that deep suffering and profound joy can coexist. It is also shaped by the psychology of Pope Saint John Paul II, the spiritual insights of Henri Nouwen, and the contemplative clarity of Dominican spirituality. These sources affirm that healing begins when we are seen, safe, and truly known.
Though sessions are offered virtually, Corbella believes that telehealth can be just as warm and personal as in-person care. Meeting from the comfort of home often creates space for deeper exploration and integration, bringing therapy into the rhythm of daily life.
At the heart of this work is a simple conviction: you are not broken. You are beloved. And you were made for joy.
Meet Mallory
Hi! I’m Mallory—Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Corbella Clinical Counseling. I hold degrees in both Psychology and Theology from Ave Maria University, and earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College. From early on, I felt called to walk with others through their most vulnerable seasons. My own journey as a client revealed just how vital authentic connection is and how powerfully God can work through the therapeutic relationship to bring healing, hope, and renewal.
During graduate school, I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and developed a deep passion for trauma therapy. Today, I specialize in helping individuals heal from wounds that impact their sense of self-worth, their relationships, and their ability to feel seen and known by God and others. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person is inherently beloved and capable of restoration.
In addition to EMDR, I draw from Internal Family Systems (parts work), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, attachment theory, and person-centered care. I believe deeply in the integration of clinical excellence with spiritual insight, and that therapy can be a place of profound transformation.
I currently see clients via telehealth in both Ohio and New Jersey, where I live with my husband. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me in adoration, at the gym, deep in a good book, or on a long walk—often with an audiobook in my ears. I’m so grateful you’re here. It would be an honor to walk with you.
